Wireless functions have become one of the more sought after features among new devices today. While most portable devices now have some sort of wireless features today, it might soon extend to the way these devices are being charged. Although such a technology is already available, not all devices have yet included this wireless feature. But there are now charging docks being developed like the LG WCD 800 Wireless Charging Dock that might work for a number of different devices.
The LG WCD 800 is an advanced wireless charger that works with devices made under the Qi standard of the Wireless Power Consortium. It is a charging dock that can wirelessly charge smartphones and tablets that can be placed on its 75.8mm wide docking cradle. The wireless charging dock makes use of electromagnetic induction technology to charge devices wirelessly. The LG WCD 800 was unveiled at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. It will soon be available in the Korean market and then in North America in the first half of this year. Pricing details for the devices have not yet been announced.
